This is the Animatic to my upcoming school project
which is going to be 3D even though this animatic is drawn...

It is a short short film.
We were only allowed to animate 30 seconds of animation, based on a painting. I chose one from Feininger.

the basic idea is:

At first you see a black/white/grey cold dirty city.
the streets are empty, until one little brightly colored guy appears in the streets, he walks up to one of the tall buildings, and enters the building, the building immediately gets the color of the little man. (in the animatic red)
more little men come on to the streets, all having the basic color yellow, red or blue. as soon as one of the other colored fellas enters the colored buildings, the colors blend..

as a result in the end all the buildings are in color, but over blending results in the same cold black/white/grey...

The story is as abstract as the painting.. but that was the assignment.. 30sec. doesn't really allow a complicated story.
The point was to make something visually astonishing, and I hope i will succeed.
Wish me luck :#1:

DEADLINE IS March 26th 2009 :fear:

If i update with 3d images, i can just switch the source file here.. but at least it will be in the right category :p

@00:30I think you have a good concept. You can make this work.

I noticed the people were colored. But I didn't connect that to the coloration of the buildings. Perhaps if you showed the first transition up close, and more slowly?

Another thing that might help would be to have the color spread from the entryway. That might make the greying more clearly connected with having many colors.

I don't know if you want suggestions. If not, please just ignore me.

@00:30well an animatic is JUST an animatic, i cant animate the whole thing in the animatic,
the finnished thing will be more clearly, there is a close up at the first transition, in wich the color will change..

i cant putt that much time in storyboard and animatic, id rather just start on the project, for me it is clear.. so

@00:30At first I didn't know where this story would lead to. But seeing this animatic reveales it. I like how it stops at square one...
